No Salmonella Found in Feed Lot

A lot of cattle feed that was recalled by the manufacturer Raisio Feed has been found to be free of salmonella. Laboratory tests confirmed on Sunday that the entire lot of 136 tonnes of feed was uncontaminated.

The company says that the precautionary recall applied to one lot of feed which used malt sprouts as raw material, in which traces of the S. Typhimurium salmonella bacteria had been found. However, an independent laboratory noted that the feed was completely free of salmonella.

A Raisio Feed spokeswoman said that the recall would be carried out in all farms in the southwest of Finland, which had bought the feed in question.
