Lidl is removing the suspect cheese from its shelves. The cheese in question is the Linessa Mozzarella Light brand with a sell-by date marked as 09.07.10.
Lidl asks that customers return the suspect cheese for a full refund.
The Lidl grocery store chain says that one of its suppliers suspects that a brand of mozzarella cheese may be infected with salmonella. Salmonella had been found in Italy in the German-manufactured Linessa Mozzarella Light cheese, and cheese from the same lot has also been sold in Lidl shops in Finland.
