Finnish Peacekeepers Attacked in Afghanistan

Finnish peacekeepers in Afghanistan came under fire on Wednesday. No one was injured in the attack. The Finnish troops were on patrol with local security officials when they were ambushed.

The attack occurred at midday in the Darzab District of the Jowzjan Province.

Lieutenant Colonel Mikael Feldt said that the peacekeepers fired back. The skirmish lasted around 30 minutes.

Air reinforcements were called in, allowing the peacekeepers to seek cover.
