No More Norovirus Found in Nokia Water Samples

Intense chlorination of the municipal water supply in the town of Nokia appears to have brought the desired results. No traces of norovirus or adenovirus were found in samples taken late Wednesday in the Koskenmäki and Kartano areas. Residents are still advised to continue to boil drinking water. It should be sometime next week that test results reveal if the measures have also eliminated the giardia protozoa from the water supply. The municipal water supply in Nokia was contaminated by treated sewage that accidentally seeped into the system at the end of November. YLE
