Minister for Foreign Trade and Development Paavo Väyrynen began a four-day visit to the United States on Monday. Väyrynen is travelling to Washington D.C., where he will meet with American political leaders and high-level civil servants, as well as World Bank President Robert Zoellick. Discussion topics hinge on trade and development issues such as climate change and the global food crisis. Väyrynen will also participate in a meeting of the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations, which runs through July 3 in New York. YLE
