On Sunday Anna-Maja Henriksson (SPP) will become the longest-serving justice minister in Finland's history, the Ministry of Justice has noted in a press release.
As of Sunday 4 June, Henriksson will have served as Minister of Justice for a total of 2,898 days, officially surpassing the long-serving justice minister Christoffer Taxell, who held the position from 1979 to 1987.
Henriksson currently serves as chair of the Swedish People's Party and is working alongside members of three other parties to form a new government under the leadership of the country's prime minister designate, Petteri Orpo (NCP).

Henriksson was first appointed justice minister in June 2011 in Prime Minister Jyrki Katainen's (NCP) government. She continued in the post after Alexander Stubb (NCP) became PM.
Then, Henriksson was again appointed justice minister in PM Antti Rinne's (SDP) government in 2019 and has continued to serve in (now outgoing) Prime Minister Sanna Marin's (SDP) cabinet.
