The polar night ends on Wednesday in Finland, after two months since 25 November when the sun did not appear on the horizon at all.

"Morning" is expected around midday in Utsjoki, which is the northernmost municipality in the European Union.

The timing of the polar night varies from year to year, with a kind of twilight replacing the actual daytime.
