Finnish Defence Minister Antti Häkkinen (NCP) hosts a meeting with his Nordic counterparts in Helsinki on Thursday.

Finland is chair of the Nordic Defence Cooperation group this year, and Thursday's meeting marks its second of the year.

According to the defence ministry, the planned topics of discussion include Nordic defence cooperation, as well as Nato defence spending. They also plan to discuss their support for Ukraine in its defence against Russia.

"We must prepare for increasing uncertainty around the world and [for] changes in the security situation in Europe. The importance of the Nordic Defence Cooperation is growing. We will reinforce the defence and security of supply in the Nordic countries and deepen our cooperation to strengthen Nato and the EU. We will together plan how we continue to support Ukraine," Häkkinen stated in a press release on Wednesday.
