Tuesday is relatively clear across the country — apart from some unsettled conditions in the north — but make no mistake, winter is making a comeback across Finland this week.
Temperatures are expected to drop on Wednesday, bringing a chance of snow showers to nearly the entire country, according to Yle meteorologist Henriikka Heikinoja.
Winds will also pick up on Wednesday, becoming gusty across the country.
The windy conditions are expected to subside after Wednesday. But a significant shift is, however, on the horizon as subzero temperatures are forecast to reach central parts of the country on Thursday and Friday.
According to Heikinoja, coming days will see precipitation mainly falling as snow in many areas.
On Friday, a new precipitation system is expected to arrive, affecting a large part of Finland. If all of that precipitation comes in the form of snow, southern Finland could see up to five centimeters of snowfall as the weekend starts, according to Heikinoja.
