Christian Tetzlaff, an intellectual who studiously avoids the cliché and commonplace, attacks both Bartók violin concertos in the same concert. The second is a modern classic, but the first is very seldom performed. We seek strength to face the autumn darkness in the last symphony by Witold Lutosławski.
