1,127,074. Vehicle rear view mirrors. SOC. COMMERCIALE DU COMPTOIR DES INVENTIONS PRATIQUES POUR L'AUTOMOBILE. 26 Nov., 1965 [11 Dec. 1964; 6 May, 1965], No. 50371/65. Heading B7J. A two-part mounting for a mirror arm 5 is held together by a bolt 3 and provides top and bottom wedge bearings 6, 7 each consisting of four partial shells 8, Fig. 3 (not shown), pressed into their housings by a compression spring 11. The spring acts against a slidable disc 12 on the arm 5 and a disc 9 fixed to 5, which disc 9 engages by means of protuberances 9a with slots between the shells 8 of the bearing 7. In a modification, Fig. 4 (not shown) a pin 18 through the arm 5 engages in a diametric fold 22a in a washer 22 engaging in a slot 21 across the top of the bore 20. In Fig. 5 (not shown), the wings of the washer 19 are raised to form a V to provide return of the arm.
