Abstract

1305975 Rear view mirrors SOC COMMERCIALE DU COMPTOIR DES INVENTIONS PRATIQUES POUR L'AUTOMOBILE SA 14 May 1970 [20 May 1969] 23476/70 Heading B7J [Also in Division E2] In a rear view mirror for use inside or outside a vehicle, a mirror reflector (not shown) is supported by a rod 1, the flattened end 1a of which is connected to a plate 4 upon which is mounted a button 5, the button being releasably held in the jaws 8 of a spring clip 9; the plate 4 also has a conical portion 6 which engages a corresponding aperture 7 in a base 2 mounting the clip 9 and itself being fixed to a portion 3 of the vehicle. The plate 4 provides a shoulder portion 12, an edge 12a or 12b of which acts as a pivot when the rod receives a blow and results in the button 5 being pulled out of the clip 9. The shoulder 12 may have straight edges (14, Fig. 2, not shown) co-operating with ridges 15 on the base to prevent rotation of the rod relative to the base.
