Abstract

1,243,535. Container closures. OHLER EKCO VERPACKUNGEN G.m.b.H., and E. SCHIERLE. 27 Sept., 1968 [29 Sept., 1967], No. 45896/68. Heading B8C. A container 1 is closed by a foil closure 8 provided with a pair of slits subdividing one short edge into outer tear tabs 10 and an inner tab 9 so that by pulling each tab in turn the closure may be completely removed. If desired, weakened lines 11 may be provided to facilitate and direct the tearing of the closure. The blank from which the closure is made (see Fig. 4, not shown) is provided with two spaced cuts at one edge and that edge then doubled back on itself, the closure thus formed then being applied to the container as shown in Fig. 5. A transparent cover sheet may be located below the closure so that upon pulling tab 9 and removing the central strip of the closure the contents of the container may be viewed hygienically.
