Abstract

1,262,309. Lighting fittings. LIGHTOLIER Inc. 8 Oct., 1969 [4 Nov., 1968], No. 49351/69. Heading F4R. A lighting fitting comprises a trough-shaped housing 11 containing a pair of elongated fluorescent lamps 14, 15 in juxtaposed vertical alignment and a pair of specular parabolic reflecting surfaces 41 with their foci F midway between the lamps, the arrangement being such that the greater part of the total illumination provided by the fitting is emitted within the 30-60 degrees zone. A further arcuate reflector 45 having its centre line on the axis of the lamp 15 is disposed' above the lamp 14, and an arcuate screen (50, Fig. 8, not shown) may be disposed below the lamp 15. The mouth of the housing is closed by a baffle 26 comprising a pair of parallel specular parabolic side walls 27 connected by parallel specular louvres 28 having opposed parabolic faces 32. The baffle is releasably attached to the housing by retractable hinge members 33.
