Abstract
494,724. Systems of lighting; wall lamps. ALLOM, G. April 28, 1937, Nos. 12096 and 26913. [Class 75 (iv)] A room or other interior is illuminated by a fitting mounted on or in a wall and comprising one or more electric lamps A, a parabolic reflector C for each lamp arranged to project a flat fan-shaped beam outwardly and upwardly, and a series of upwardly inclined transparent or translucent slats D between which the light passes to illuminate portions of both ceiling and wall. In the form shown in Fig. 1, the fitting is housed in a casing B let into the wall X and the slats D are shaped at their outer edges to conform to the shape of a domed glass cover F which is hinged to the front of the fitting. Figs 4 and 5 show the invention applied to a larger fitting which consists of two superposed high-power lamps A, each cooperating with a parabolic reflector C, and a number of low-power lamps G, G<1>arranged at each side within reflectors H, H<1>, the slats D being mounted in a frame B<1> forming the front of the casing B. Differently coloured screens J, J<1>, J2 are mounted in front of each high-power lamp A and in front of the groups of low-power lamps G, G<1> disposed at each side thereof.
