The adhesion between the surfaces of adjacent masses of unvuloanized rubber is reduced by dusting the surfaces of the rubber with finely divided trans-1,4-polyisoprene, trans-1,4-polybutadiene, high styrene styrene-butadiene copolymer or ethylene propylene terpolymer. The finely divided materials may also contain carbon black and/or vulcanizing aids.
