Abstract
1339503 Sterilisation THOMASSEN & DRIJVER-VERBLIFA NV 23 April 1971 [26 April 1970] 10972/71 Heading A2D In a method of sterilising food products in a closed container, there is added to the container before it is closed, a small quantity of a liquid which completely evaporates at the sterilisation temperature and pressure, the liquid being capable of being mixed with, or soluble in, substances present in the product, being not injurious to health, and does not substantially alter the taste of the sterilised product, the liquid being such that the liquid and or its vapour effects a preserving action on the food product. The liquid is preferably ethanol. The method is particularly applicable to the treatment of poultry.
