Abstract
1369448 Transformers HITACHI Ltd 3 Nov 1971 [11 Nov 1970] 51152/71 Heading HIT [Also in Division H2] A device for use in a voltage-control system comprises a three-part core F 1 , F 2 , F 3 , Fig. 2, for coupling primary windings A 1 , B 1 , C 1 (one for each phase) to secondary windings A 2 , -, C 4 arranged in three series connected groups (A 2 , B 3 , C 4 ), (B 2 , C 3 , A 4 ), (C 2 , A 3 , B 4 ) having respective outputs AA, BB, CC, each set of windings (e.g. A 1 , A 2 , A 3 , A 4 ) having a turns-ratio of 1:1:2:2. If the input voltage V to one of the primary windings (say A) is reduced by a factor Z, (so that the inputs are V(1-Z), V, V) then with the above arrangement the output voltages will be from which it follows that the input fractional error (B - A/A) is much greater than the output error (BB - AA/AA). The core may be a threelegged one as shown in Fig. 5a, and with or without an additional free leg FF (Fig. 5b, not shown).
