Abstract
139,429. Davey, H. Sept. 23, 1919. Cylinders, cooling.-Waste heat from the exhaust and cooling water is utilized to generate steam in a boiler comprising two parts, the upper of which a communicates with the cylinder jackets while the lower c serves as a multitubular feedwater heater through which the exhaust passes' in a downward direction from g to h. A burner p serves to heat the boiler at starting, the steam serving to turn the engine. Three forms of the apparatus are described. The water level may be controlled by a float in the vessel a.
