Abstract

1420541 Abrasive wheels TYROLITSCHLEIFMITTELWERKE SWAROVSKI KG 27 March 1974 [2 April 1973] 13575/74 Heading B3D A segmental wheel, such as a cut-off wheel, comprises a supporting body 1 which has a circular or polygonal periphery provided with a radially extending flange 25, a clamping ring 23 secured to the flange by screws 11 and providing an interstice A between the clamping ring and the supporting body, and abrasive segments 2 each having a holding plate 3 which is clamped between the flange 25 and ring 23 and has a projection 28 extending axially into the interstice. The projections on the holding plates may be formed by welding flanges to the plates or by bending the lower portions of the plates (Figs. 3 and 4, not shown). In use, the centrifugal force of the segments is resisted by the engagement of the projections 28 with the clamping ring and the screws 11 merely exert a clamping pressure, there being preferably one screw for each segment.
