Abstract

1457315 Sliding clasp fastener stringers YOSHIDA KOGYO KK 2 April 1974 [4 April 1973 (2)] 14578/74 Heading E2S A stringer for a slide fastener comprises a tape 10 of non-woven textile material folded about a longitudinal axis, an elongate flexible core 11a enclosed within the folded edge 14 of the tape, and a row of fastener elements 13 anchored to the folded edge of the tape in such a manner that the core is retained in position solely by the securing arms 12 of the respective fastener elements, the core 11a including a portion 15 projecting from between the securing arms of the respective fastener elements. The core 11a may be formed of twisted, or woven, together yarns, or threads, the securing arms 12 of the elements 13 being clinched over the folded edge 14 and then compressed together. The core 11a may initially be of round cross-section and of sufficient size to form the ridge 15 when compressed. In another arrangement the core is of generally flat cross-section.
