1509539 Fixed blood cells WALES SECRETARY OF STATE FOR 20 Jan 1976 [21 April 1975] 46169/74 Heading A2D A process for the fixation of red blood cells for use in a whole blood standard comprises contacting a suspension of the cells with a saturated aliphatic dialdehyde at a concentration of not more than 0.025 moles per litre of suspension medium for a controlled period to produce only partial fixation of the cells. The dialdehyde is suitably glutaraldehyde. An antibiotic and ethylene diamine tetraacetic acid may be present.
