Abstract

Gibberellic acid is prepared by cultivating active strains of Gibberella fugikuroi or Fusarium moniliforme in an aerated nutrient medium characterized in that the source of carbon is dextrin and sucrose, the dextrin being used in the nutrient solution in a range of about 4-12% w/v and the sucrose in a range of about 2-10% w/v. The combined total amounts of the dextrin and sucrose may be added to the medium simultaneously or the dextrin may be present initially and the sucrose added over a period.
