Abstract

Boxes made from special blanks. -A collapsable tubular box or carton having connected side and end folding or closure flaps, the side folding flaps having diagonal folding lines k, has the end folding flaps f<1> provided with extensions p scored at p<1>, p<2> so that the extensions can be folded upon themselves as shown in Fig. 2, to receive the ends of the opposite end folding flaps g'. The side folding flaps which have become folded into triangular form n by the folding down of the flaps f<1>, g<1> are then folded down and secured together. In a modification, the extension p is joined to the side flaps by triangular or other pieces which are folded over to embrace the folded-over end of the opposite side. In a further modification the parts of the side folding flaps between the diagonal folding lines and the end folding flap f<1> may be extended and the scorers p<1>, p<2> carried across them to form folds to receive the corresponding parts of the side folding flaps adjacent the flap g' and this flap. Also a loose tab may be provided extending from the central portion of one of the side folidng flaps, such tab being inserted be. tween the opening left when the end folding flaps are engaged and folded down.
