Abstract

220,348. McClelland, N. E. April 13, 1923. Scum apparatus; sediment collectors; watercirculation, apparatus for promoting.-In apparatus for removing solid impurities from steam and other boilers, evaporators, &c., water is delivered to a sediment collector B by a circulating device of the type comprising an immersed, closed, tubular vessel A having an inlet pipe connected at or near its upper end and a pipe connected near its lower end discharging above the water level. The discharge pipe may have a vent pipe H and the collector B has a baffle or baffles D, a water outlet E and a sediment discharge pipe F to which scum pans I are connected. Specification 194,223 is referred to.
