Abstract

274,715. Mulroney, J. E. Dec. 20, 1926. Guillotine machines. - A paper cutting machine with a knife 4 reciprocated by pitmen 8 from a motor 10 has a fixed side gauge 24 on which can slide a cross-gauge 25 for positioning the material. A finger 32 on the gauge 25 successively engages stops 36, 37, 38 axially and angularly adjustable on a shaft 39, intermittently rotated by ratchet mechanism from the knife operating means. A detent 60 engaging the ratchet wheel on the shaft 39 is lifted at the end of a traverse of the gauge 25 by a pin adjustable in holes in the ratchet wheel.
