Abstract

412,327. Thermionic valves. LASZLO, S. P. DE, 6, Stanhope Place, Hyde Park, London. Jan. 31, 1933, No. 2986. [Class 39 (i).] In a valve having one or more grids, the filament is damped by a strip 1 of refractory material such as mica which is carried by a separate support 3 projecting from the stem and has a pair of notches 8<a>, 8<b> engaging with the filament 5 and a part 9 between the notches projecting through the grid 7 or grids. The strip 1 is attached to a nickel sleeve 2 which is passed over the support 3 and turned so that the notches engage with the filament, the sleeve being then pinched or welded to the support. The notch 8<a> may engage with the frame of the grid and the support 3 may be of resilient material so that the notch bears against the frame. Two strips may be used. A resilient hook for the filament may be mounted on the support 2.
