Abstract
414,620. Discharge lamps. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO., Ltd., Magnet House, Kingsway, London.-(Assignees of Patent-Treuhand Ges. f³r Elektrische Gl³hlampen; 11, Ehrenbergstrasse, Berlin.) April 10, 1934, No. 10802. Convention date, June 27, 1933. [Class 39 (i).] In a lamp with a double walled envelope a sheath 13 of translucent material such as glass, quartz or mica surrounds the inner wall 1 of the discharge tube. The sheath is open at the ends and is supported by springs 15 housed in recesses in the outer wall 2, and if desired also by springs 14 between the sheath and inner wall. The sheath limits the heat conduction between the two walls 1, 2 and further to increase this effect a coating of heat absorbing material, such as gold or silver, may be applied to the sheath. The space between the walls is preferably exhausted.
