Abstract
In making fusion welded chromium steel tubes of relatively small bore by passing a metal strip through dies or rolls to bend it with its edges in opposed position and then through dies or rolls to bring the edges into mutual contact or very close proximity immediately within the flame produced by a stream of hydrogen directed through an electric arc, the tube after welding may be passed through a furnace to heat it to 1050 DEG C. and is then quenched to normalize the tube.
