Abstract

437,242. Opening or disintegrating bales of cellulose. LAMORT FILS, E. & M., Vitry-le-Francois, Marne, France. April 8, 1935, No. 10829. Convention date, April 6, 1934. [Class 120 (i)] [See also Group VIII] Apparatus for disintegrating bales 2 of cellulose pulp sheets &c. comprises rotating shafts 4 having projecting arms 5 and mounted side-by-side parallel with the working surface of the bale 2 which is fed perpendicularly towards them. The bales 2 are forwarded by a conveyer 1 to a laterally-oscillating table 3, e.g. having longitudinal ribs and lateral guides. The arms 5, e.g. helically positioned on the shafts 4 oppositely rotating at 720 r.p.m. may be of triangular section having obtuse ends and may interpenetrate and extend a few millimetres through an oscillating grille 8, a water-spray 12 wetting the face of the pulp being worked.
