Abstract

440,293. Vehicle lamps. STRANGE, A. L., 71, St. Aubyns, Hove, Sussex. Nov. 20, 1934, No. 33376. [Classes 75 (ii) and 75 (iv)] A reflector for a vehicle lamp comprises two parts which join each other in a vertical plane containing the two foci, the rear part 3 having its focus 4 below the light source 5 so as to project a beam downwardly, whilst the front part 7 has its focus 8 to one side of the light source so as to project a beam laterally towards the near side of the road. The two parts 3, 7 are joined by a flat crescent-shaped piece 10. Preferably the light source is of approximately square configuration and may comprise a single filament, three vertical filaments, or other arrangement of filaments. The axis of the front part 7 of the reflector may be turned horizontally through a small angle towards the near side of the road.
