Abstract
456,176. Boxes. BARLOW, R., 28, Kingsway, London, and COWAN, A. F., 48, Barnfield Avenue, Shirley, Surrey. July 2, 1935, No. 18883. [Class 18] In a dispensing box &c. for powder, cigarettes, lozenges, &c., with a sliding lid 2, the edges of the lid are flanged at 3, to engage the parallel sides of the box, and each flange is extended, 3<a>, 4 to embrace the underside of the box &c., the box bottom being provided with means, e.g. pips, ribs, &c. 5, 7, co-operating with the extensions on the lid flanges, to limit the travel of the lid. The lid may be indented by transverse ribs 9 or it may carry a flange at one end, to limit the travel of the lid in the other direction. If the bottom of the box is grooved to receive a rib formed in the lid flange extensions, the groove may be shallower at the middle to cause the lid to " bind " at the central or unopened position. A slotted cover may be fitted to the box, beneath the lid, through which the contents are to be dispensed. Specifications 449,173 and 449,338 are referred to.
