505,840. Boxes. BARLOW, R., and COWAN, A. F. Nov. 15, 1937, No. 31378. [Class 18] A box for lozenges or powdered material is provided with a sliding lid 3, and the body 1 of the box has a flange or curl 2 around the mouth with which flanges 5 on the lid engage. The curl is cut away on two sides and projections 8 on the lid flanges engage in these interrupted portions to limit the sliding movement of the lid. The flange on the lid extends continuously 'around three sides. A cutaway portion in the curl on the body may also comprise a curl of smaller diameter than the main curl, or a portion which has been flattened in a horizontal or a vertical plane; and the projection on the lid flange may comprise an inwardly projecting pip, or be formed by slitting the flange or cutting notches therein and bending the adjacent portions 8 inwards. The lid is formed with a raised panel for rigidity, and one end of the lid is provided with a pip and a deep flange which hold the lid closed, the pip riding over the curl on that end of the body. The box can be made of metal or mouldable material and the lid may be transparent.
