[Class 126] [Also in Group XIII] In a heat-radiator heated by gas, oil, solid fuel, or electricity, and comprising a hollow body with one or more side plates 17 heated by hot gases passing over their inner surfaces which are provided with fins 18, 19, 20 arranged in groups, one group above another, the fins in one group are out of line, in the direction of flow of hot gases, with those in an adjacent group. In Figs. 2 and 3, the radiator is heated by a burner 11, and air can flow through the passages at the rear formed by partitions 8, 9, 21. In a modification, the hot gases pass out through a rear outlet leading to a chimney, and the air passing up the back is drawn in at the front. In another form, the radiator is applied to a gas fire, and is arranged above the radiants from which it receives hot gases. In Fig. 12, the radiator comprises a hollow cylinder 53 with an inner cylinder 54 mounted on a hollow support 57 with apertures 58. Hot gases from a ring burner 61 pass up between the cylinders and air flows up through the cylinder 54. The ring burner 61 rests on plates 60. In all forms, the heat-radiating surface and the openings at the front for the entry or outlet of air or hot gases are protected by grilles. Specification 502,945 is referred to.
