Abstract
525,444. Cracking hydrocarbons; catalytic agents. STANDARD OIL DEVELOPMENT CO. Feb. 21, 1939, No. 5762. Convention date, March 29, 1938. [Classes 1 (i) and 32] A catalyst for cracking hydrocarbon oils is prepared by treating a base-exchange compound containing silica and alumina with acid until the exchangeable base is completely removed, the ratio of silica to alumina is between 5 to 1 and 20 to 1, and the apparent density of the product after heating to 800-100‹ F. is between 0.4 and 0.8.
