Abstract

547,920. Transformers. MESTITZ, E., and ELCO (TREFOREST), Ltd. April 24, 1941, No. 5305. [Class 38 (ii)] [Also in Group XXXVI] For supplying low voltage appliances from the mains, a step-down transformer 1 is mounted on a plug coupling 4 which serves to support it when plugged into a supply fitting. The appliance to be fed may be permanently attached to the transformer or may be connected thereto by a lead with a coupling corresponding to one of the output couplings 12, 13 connected to tappings from the secondary 8 of the transformer. To vary the output voltage still further, primary tappings 9 either of which can be connected to the coupling 4 by a bridging member 10, and an adjustable leakage member 14 in the transformer core may be provided. An earthing pin 41 may be connected to the core, and the transformer may be mounted on rubber blocks 3.
