[Class 137] In a ventilating system which includes at least one directional louvre outlet and a diffuser-type outlet supplied from a common air stream, an orificed partition 16 is provided in a duct 10 near the diffuser outlet or distributor 11, and forms a constricted passage of, e.g., less than a half of the duct area. In the preferred form the crifice comprises a venturi tube 15 extending through a plate 16 fitting the bore of duct; the obstruction may however consist of an apertured plate with or without a flange at the margin of the aperture.
