Abstract

579,754. Eye-screens. GILLIES, S. May 24, 1944, No. 10009. [Class 97 (i)] An eye-screen or mask comprises in combination a frameless sheet of transparent flexible material fashioned to fit closely over the brow nose and cheeks of the wearer, strips 9, 10 and 13 of soft padding material secured to the inner surface of the sheet along the upper and lower edges thereof, and apertures 12 provided beneath the padding strips, the sheet being formed at its sides with tapered parts ending in lugs 4 for receiving adjustable rigid side arms 7 which engage the wearer's ears. The lugs 4 are formed with slots 5 which are engaged by the hook 6 formed on the arm 7. In a modification (Fig. 4) the arm comprises a strip 14 hinged to the lug 4, and having a shaped ear-piece 15, in which the slots 19 are formed for selective engagement by the clip member 16 pivoted to the strip at 17.
