Abstract
582,970. Boxes &c. WASHINGTON, H. Oct. 10, 1944, No. 19481. [Class 18] A box A for small glass phials or like tubular containers comprises a series of transverse partitions d, and a lid or cover B hingedly connected along the back a of the box A. The transverse partitions d are formed by a strip D of folded cardboard and affixed to a backing C which is twice the width of the box and is secured to the inside of the lid B. When the lid is closed the portion of the backing C affixed to the partition strip D lies on the bottom of the box with the other portion of the backing folded with the lid over the top of thepartitions d. When the lid is opened more than 90 degrees the backing C and partitions d are drawn into an inclined plane with the ends of the partitions and phials above the back a of the box. To assist the raising of the backing C and partition strip D, when the lid is opened, a strip of cardboard F or like material is arranged between the lid B and the backing C. A flap E is arranged along the top edge of the front a<1> of the box to cover the ends of the phials and containers and may be immovable or hingedly secured thereto.
