594,763. Circuits for magnetrons. MARCONI'S WIRELESS TELEGRAPH CO.; Ltd. Feb. 3,1944, No. 2029. Convention date. Feb. 3, 1943. [Class 40 (v)] [Also in Group XXXV] A power supply system for a magnetron oscillator 1 comprises a high voltage step-up transformer Tr (see Group XXXV), the secondary windings 4, 5 of which are in parallel for the pulsing currents and in series for the cathode-heating current, which current is derived from a low voltage step down transformer 7, a large capacity condenser 11 and a small capacity rotary condenser 14. On applying 1000 volts D.C. to the condensers, a momentary pulse of about twice the voltage than would result from the use of a single condenser becomes available to the primary winding 6 of the transformer Tr, from the secondary winding of which is obtainable pulses of 10,000 volts and of one microsecond duration at an interval of from 500 to 4000 microseconds. Condensers connect the outside terminals of the secondary windings of the step-down transformer to earth in order to byepass the highfrequency pulses.
