Abstract
627,832. Jet propulsion plant. SOC. RATEAU, and ANXIONNAZ, R. Nov. 16, 1945. No. 30847. Convention date, April 4. [Class 110(iii)] In a gas turbine jet propulsion plant which also drives an airscrew, part of the air from the compressor is taken direct to a chamber in front of the jet propulsion nozzle. The gas turbine plant shown comprises a turbine e which drives a compressor b<1>, b<2> and an airscrew a and exhausts to a propulsion nozzle f. Part of the air is taken from the compressor at h and passed through a pipe i to a chamber in front of the propulsion nozzle f. To increase the jet thrust from the plant fuel may be burnt in the jet pipe by burners g. The amount of air passing through the by-pass pipe i may be regulated by an annular throttle j. Specifications 571,333 and 586,277 are referred to.
