Abstract
674,231. Shuttleless looms. FROST, W. H. March 6, 1950 [March 4, 1949], No. 5931/49. Class 142(ii) A loop of weft inserted by a needle in a shuttleless loom as described in Specification 614,466 is prevented being taken back by a pin A which carries the loop to the face of the cloth and then moves downwardly as the sley moves forward, and then moves upwardly and rearwardly as shown by the dotted line S to engage the next loop. The pin is carried by a lever C-H pivoted at D to a sector plate E itself pivoted at F to a fixed framing G. A linkage J, J<SP>1</SP> pivoted at J<SP>2</SP> to a fixed point carries a follower K bearing on a cam L on a driver shaft N so that the needle moves horizontally in predetermined manner as the cam L revolves. A further linkage N-P controlled by a cam M on the same shaft is pivotally connected to the plate E and determines the vertical movement of the pin. The arrangement is duplicated at each end of the loom. Alternatively a needle at each end may be linked to a pair of cams at one end only.
