An illuminated halo for a statue consists of or is engraved upon the rear surface of, a band of transparent material mounted so as to extend over the head of the statue, artificial illumination being applied edge on to the bands. As shown a statue 3, Fig. 1, in a shrine 1 has an illuminated halo 4. The halo is adjustably mounted between uprights 8, Fig. 3, mounted between removable metal shields 13 mounted on a base 9 bolted to brackets 6 secured to the rear of the shrine. An electric light bulb 7 is mounted on the base between spaced ends of the halo illuminating the bevelled edges of the halo. The halo may have circles 16 engraved and wording 16A may be incorporated on the rear of the halo which is of transparent material, such as "Perspex" (Registered Trade Mark). The statue may be illuminated by a lower light on the pedestal 2. Alternatively the statue and halo may be mounted on a base 2X of opaque, coloured "Perspex" and the halo is bent over at the top. The halo and panels 19, 20 have bevelled lower edges mounted in slots in the base which contains an electric light bulb. The front has an ornamental plaque 23 behind which is a "Perspex" strip 24 also with the lower edge bevelled. The base is mounted on "Perspex" feet and there is provision for main and battery supply of electricity. Coloured lamps may be used.
