Abstract

767,378. Pneumatic tyres. PIRELLI SOC. PER AZIONI. March 10, 1955 [March 11, 1954], No. 7112/55. Class 144 (2). In a tyre comprising not more than two carcase plies N, and with two bead cores E, I in each bead, the plies N are wrapped around the two bead cores as shown in Fig. 8. This ensures firm anchorage of the carcase plies to the bead cores and permits a reduction in thickness of the rubber sidewall G of the tyre adjacent the beads. As shown in Fig. 9, a flipper strip may be wrapped around the axially inner bead I and a coaxial filler M, and a chafer strip O may be wrapped around the bead assembly E, I, to lie outwardly of the carcase plies N.
