Abstract
824,326. Automatic regulation. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. June 29,1956 [June 30, 1955], No. 20243/56. Class 38 (4). In a voltage stabilizer of the kind in which the load is shunted by the parallel combination of a capacitor and a saturable reactor using as a core a material having a substantially rectangular magnetization curve; temperature compensation is provided by a second similar stabilizer using a core material with a different Curie temperature, and subtracting a portion of the voltage across one of the reactors from the voltage across the other. The first stabilizer consists of a linear reactor 12 in series with the parallel combination of capacitor 14 and saturable reactor 16. The second, compensating, stabilizer consists of linear reactor 13 in series with the parallel combination of capacitor 15 and saturable reactor 17. The reactor 17 is either tapped, Fig. 2 (not shown), or has a secondary winding, and the load 19 is connected either to the tapping or to the secondary winding. It is shown mathematically that by opposing the two outputs, the temperature variable components cancel.
