Abstract
The invention comprises 2-acyl-1:3 (2H)-dioxo-1-pyrazolo[a]benzo[c] cinnolines of the general formula: <FORM:0856370/IV(b)/1> or tautomeric forms thereof, and their salts with inorganic or organic bases, wherein R-CO represents the radical of an aliphatic, cycloaliphatic, aromatic, araliphatic or heterocyclic carboxylic acid, which may be substituted, and R1 and R2 represent hydrogen or non-salt-forming substituents (e.g. alkyl, alkoxy, aralkoxy, alkylmercapto or nitro groups or halogen atoms), and the preparation thereof by reacting the corresponding 2-unsubstituted compounds with reactive functional derivatives of carboxylic acids R-COOH. The products have antiphlogistic, antipyretic and analgesic activity.
