Abstract

863,897. Semi-conductor devices. GENERAL ELECTRIC CO. Ltd. April 30, 1959 [May 15, 1958], No. 15671/58. Class 37. A germanium rectifier 1 is cooled by a fin arrangement 3 attached to a copper electrode 2 of the rectifier by a threaded rod 6 and mounted in an insulating channel 13 through which cooling air flows by bolts 5. The channel is split in two halves along a longitudinal axis. The finning is pinned to the screwed rod and the electrode connection is taken from the lower end of the rod. A further rectifier may be positioned at the lower end of the rod so that a single cooling arrangement serves a pair of rectifiers.
