Abstract
867,021. Electric heating elements. ASSOCIATED ELECTRICAL INDUSTRIES Ltd. Sept. 15, 1959 [Sept. 30, 1958], No. 31203/58. Class 39(3). [Also, in Group XL(a)] A heating element 4 for an indirectly-heated cathode may comprise a tungsten helix 5 with a coating 7 of powdered refractory insulation, e.g. alumina and silica, applied by cataphoresis and sintered thereon. As shown the element 4 is in the form of a bundle of substantially parallel limbs and is spaced and further insulated from the cathode sheath by a fused silica helix 8. Suitable dimensions are given. Specification 847,019 is referred to.
