Abstract

A cosmetic composition of the aerosol type useful for facial treatments comprises an oil in water emulsion comprising from 0.1 to 0.2% by weight of scordinine and from 0.01 to 0.1% of 1,3 - di - [1 - heptyl - 1 - iodo - 5 - methylthiazolyl - (2)] - 5 - [1 - heptyl - 5 - methylthiazolyl - (2)] - pentamethine structural (formula given) together with from 4 to 12% of a low-boiling liquid propellant which may be dichlorodifluoro methane, dichlorotetrafluoro ethane or liquefied petroleum gas. The oil phase of the emulsion may comprise higher fatty acids, e.g. stearic or palmitic acid, lower alkyl esters thereof, e.g. isopropyl palmitate or myristate; lanolin, liquid paraffin, or aqualane. Non-ionic and anionic surface-active agents and perfume may also be present.
