A golf-club head 14 is joined to the shaft 10 by a curved shank 15, the disposition of the parts being such that the axis of the shaft intersects a horizontal line e through or near the intended point of impact with the ball and the weight of the head and shank being so distributed as to be equal on opposite sides of the shaft axis.
